Vogue-Inspired Maternity Photography in Chicago
A showcase of my favorite maternity photographs I’ve taken in Chicagoland.
There is always a certain magic and holy-ness when photographing pregnant women.
Almost always the photo shoot starts off with Mom expressing that she feels nervous and even awkward in the spotlight.
“Just tell me what to do.”
And I usually reply with something like: “You’re doing fine, just be you, settle into a pose and we will tweak from there.”
We’ll find a spot with lovely light, I’ll show you exactly how to stand, which way to face, which hand to put on your belly and little thing you can
do to feel comfortable, to forget - for a few seconds - and just be.
A few snaps of the shutter, hair fixes, and my favorite - watching Mom light up when I say: “YES!” and “That’s Beautiful.”
The awkwardness melts.
And you remember just how bad-ass and beautiful you are.
These images capture a soft, artsy feel with fun shadows, making each mom-to-be look like they belong in Vogue.
My goal is to make Chicago women feel as glamorous and beautiful as they truly are during this special time.
